The Cape Anne Historical Museum showcases exhibits covering different aspects of the region, including the fishing industry, the fine arts, the granite quarrying industry, and more. Its permanent collection features early 18th-century paintings by the likes of Benjamin Blythe and Gilbert Stuart; and the largest collection in the world of works by the famous 19th-century maritime luminist Fitz Henry Lane. The museum lies in the heart of town, a couple blocks north of Harbor Cove.
